Add custom subdomain to set up GTM server side will stop Browser side tracking?

Hallo,
following your instructions in this article, https://gtm-server.com/how-to-set-up-google-tag-manager-server-side-container/
at point 9 you recommend to modify the Google Tag Manager container code, replacing www.googletagmanager.com with the created subdomain.

My question is: by modifing the GTM container code as you suggest, will it stop the browser side tracking?

As Facebook suggest, it is recommended to keep both, browser and server side tracking. This is why I am wondering if modifying the GTM container code as you suggest may stop the browser tracking from working.

Thanks!

If you modify the Google Tag Manager code, it won’t stop browser tracking. It will replace the domain from which the script is loaded. If you update, custom subdomain adBlockers won’t block your tracking scripts as it will be loaded within your main site.

Replacing the domain in Google Tag Manager is highly recommended by Google Send data to server-side Google Tag Manager
